The four fields

Transactional analysis has four main areas of application: Counselling, Educational, Organisational, Psychotherapy (formerly Clinical).

Exams are run by the European Association for Transactional Analysis (EATA) or the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA) and can only be taken by members of either one or the other body. The ITA is a national association with EATA and ITA members are therefore required to meet EATA exam requirements.
